I started playing drums at age of 7. I got the idea from my good friend who happened to get a drum set from his uncle. We used to beat the crap out of those things in their garage and all of a sudden I realized that “This is quite cool!”. Soon my parents bought me a so called practice set and later on a real drum set. That’s how I got started. At first I played mostly basic pop and rock, but when I heard Pantera - Becoming for the first time when I was about 15 years old, it hit me pretty hard. “You can play double bass like that?!?” I thought and decided that when my current pop/rock band quits I’ll buy double pedals and become a metal drummer.
I joined my first real metal band, Autere, in 2003 when I moved to Turku. I learned a great deal of musical and non-musical stuff in this band as we grew together as persons and players. So I have a lot to thank for the guys and everyone else I’ve worked with.
Autere is more straight up bashing so I was very pleased to join Simulacrum (early 2017) and get some experience on progressive metal. I’m really looking forward to all the challenges this band throws at me.
